Happy Valentines Day! This weekend our community garden expanded with the addition of a fruit orchard. In addition to the veggies, we are now growing apples, pears, peaches, plums, oranges, kumquat and figs. If you get chance, stop by and have a look. A special thanks to those who purchased trees and those who helped plant them on Saturday, also the tireless bobcat with auger that saved time and our backs. The cold weather caused some damage, especially to the seedlings that were just breaking the surface. We need to be patient and see what survived. Check out the pictures on out website.

Upcoming Events:
15 February – At the request of the City Council, Derek will present his Eagle Scout project, our Garden Shed, to the Architectural Review Board. I do not anticipate any problems, but if you have the time to attend, it will demonstrate the community’s commitment to the garden. The Board meets at 5:30 at City Hall.
26 February – Growing your own produce class at Shades of Green at 9:45 and 1:45.
